Some thoughts about the second US online Dharma Meeting: HOW HAVE GURU’S LESSONS CHANGED MY LIFE? (Những lời chỉ dạy của Thầy thay đổi cuộc đời tôi như thế nào?)

Dear Holy Guru,

Greetings from America and the online Dharma meetings! First, I want to thank you kindly for being in our meeting tonight. I felt double blessed as I was able to see and hear you again and it was my birthday. The day I was born physically, but not the day I was born into my more important path to enlightenment. It was so wonderful to see you again. Thank you for blessing us with your presence and blessings as we discuss your lessons and grow a better understanding of how to practice during all our everyday activities. It was a gift to all of us to have you there smiling down the merit on all of us. I am so sorry I couldn’t use my mic and I do hope you were able to see what I wrote to you and in the group. I couldn’t tell the group how your lessons have changed my life, but I would like to here.

You know that when I came to you a few years ago (summer 2017) my life was a disaster. Other learners may not know that I was diagnosed with Depression, BiPolar Disorder, OCD, PTSD, Severe Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Agoraphobia, and many physical health conditions.

I was in a very dark place. A veil was over my eyes and heart. I searched for decades and learned about every religion I could study. I tried hard to ‘fit in’ the religions I studied. I learned as much as I could about each. None of them touched my heart. None of them made sense to me. None of them taught PEACE, regardless of what they said. When I started reading about Buddhism I sunk in and felt at home. I read everything I could get my hands on and was soon searching on social media for like minded people who I could learn more from.

When I was first learning about Buddhism, I believed what many who do not know about Buddhism believe, I thought to be a Buddhist, you had to be a male monk, with a shaved head, in a Buddhist temple, with vows of silence, chanting, and eating only rice. I was saddened thinking this is the only way I could learn about Buddhism from a Guru. I searched for some way to learn more in my darkness and that’s when I met Miss Violet Tran. She brought me to you and for that I am forever grateful to her for that.

She introduced me to I dove right in. I was reading and commented every day. You encouraged me each time and sent love and support as well as merit my way while I tried to remove the veil of depression and mental illness. You gave me my Dharma name. I was over the moon with the honor. I wanted to do and learn everything all at the same time. I wanted to do everything at one time. It was difficult for me to understand that learning everything at once would not teach me anything.

I have had many dark days since first being introduced to you dear Guru, and have even gone long times without commenting. Hospitalizations and medications for mental health would often remove any thoughts of anything except suffering. If I could understand then what I’m starting to understand now, I would have read and commented even if I couldn’t remember the beginning of the article when I got to the end. I would feel ashamed and embarrassed that I was studying under you and still suffering so terribly. I felt I was doing something wrong and that you would be upset with me that I was still suffering. I did not understand what I do now.

We are born into suffering, must earn merit and gain good karma and replace bad karma. I didn’t understand. I thought I was being punished and that the punishment would never end.

Here it is a few years later and due to the mental illness treatment’s, I’ve had since joining I have many severe memory issues. I may not remember things, and I may need to ask the same question 100 times, I still have the effects of practicing in my life. I have had times when I was in health crisis and envisioned you next to buddha while chanting the mani mantra and you got me through. With each year, even with my memory issues, I am seeing the changes in me and in my life. Not only My husband, but Violet has told me she sees a change in me too.

I do still have difficult times but even when the difficult times last over a longer span of time, I can see things to be grateful for and appreciative in the present moment. My mother has cancer and will find out when the mass or possibly her kidney will be removed soon. I had a very difficult time during her medical issues and the way it was handled to this point. I felt anger but because of your lessons and support, I have learned not to judge her, and those involved, and to listen to her feelings and thoughts not in a judgmental way.

I remember what it felt like to be caught in situations like this. It would have brought that veil in front of my heart and mind for long periods leaving me feeling hopeless. Though I still have sadness and suffering as we do when stuck in samsara I can still remind myself the suffering is in the moment and from moment to moment I can enjoy and appreciate the life I’ve been given and all of the blessings you have bestowed on me through your lessons.

I also wanted to tell you that it was an honor to hear your lesson tonight and I am so pleased to hear your English is improving so well. It shows how much you have been practicing to be able to communicate with more of your learners. I thank you again for all of your dedication and devotion to Buddhism and Buddha’s lessons.

May you be well for the sake of all sentient beings, May all sentient beings be free from suffering, and may all sentient being find enlightenment. Om Mani Padme Hum

This act of refomation one ‘s life by your dharma gift is really comparable to that of life of Angulimala’s reformation by Buddha, the great!-reformation of violence into dharma life! So, Guruji, can I call you Buddha Himself who has taken rebirth in the present Age?

Thank you Tantra Nirvadeva for your kind and sincere words which were spoken from your pure faith and devotion. It was affirmed by Ashvagosha that when the disciple considers his Guru as a Buddha, he will receive blessings from the Buddha. Therefore, it is not that I wanted to be called a Buddha, but your devotion will enhance your progress in the path to enlightenment by the blessings of the Buddha. I am proud that you have developed Guru devotion toward the right track of Dharma. I believe you have been inspired others.
May you practice Dharma diligently and fulfill all your legitimate wishes.
      Om mani padme hum.

    Dear Tantra Amishuta,
Your story touched me indeed. What you have been receiving through learning and practising Pure Mind Yoga is amazing and impressive. Sometimes people would say it’s too good to be true, as to how can only by reading and commenting on a website give such incredible results. The outcomes really come from the compassion of Guru via his six spiritual inventions for us and the faith of the students. Hence, we should believe in Guru and his methods more and more by diligently practising what he taught us. Your sharing has shown me a good example in practising and applying Guru’s teachings in life so that you overcame all the difficulties from your mental and physical health and sympathy for others. Good for you, Tantra Amishuta.
I pray for all of us Guru’s students to have firm faith in Guru’s guidance to practise diligently. In that way, we all would be soaking in blessing rains from the Buddha via Guru’s channel.
May Guru have good health and longevity for the benefit of all sentient beings.
May the Covid-19 pandemic will come to an end soon.
    Om mani padme hum.

  5. Tantra Amishuta says:

Thank you over and over for all of your support and lessons which have made a lasting impact on all parts of my life. Even when I was confused and lost and when I was in the dark you said with a candle gently guiding me to your lessons. I’m so happy to be a part of chahntuddy. Com I do not want anyone to think that suffering doesn’t happen and that I love in a bubble, but instead I have the tools to see what the suffering is. Not a forever state but impermanent. It reminds me of a saying a bad moment doesn’t have to turn into a bad day. You taught me this. Thank you again. I am forever grateful. May you be well for the sake of all sentient beings. May all sentient beings be free from suffering and find their way to enlightenment. I’m Mani Pandme hum
